New Young Curator for Courthouse ARTS

Courthouse ARTS recently announced its new curator for 2013. Stacey Williams has been appointed to the position, taking over the role from 2012 curator Jenna Ramondo.

Stacey recently graduated from The Gordon in Graphic Arts, this year enrolling at the Academy of Design, Melbourne. Ms Williams is also an emerging artist and graphic designer. The contract will run until the end of 2013.

Every year Courthouse ARTS gives one lucky emerging curator the opportunity of taking ownership of a creative space for 12 months. They can name it, brand it and fill it with all the creativity they can find.

Courthouse ARTS provides the space, administrative resources, marketing and mentoring support for the curator role. There is also the opportunity for the young curator to be mentored by Lisa Sullivan, Curator at the Geelong Gallery.

For anyone considering a career in curating this residency/mentorship is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in the art world.

If you have ideas for an exhibition or work you would like to share with the masses, email Stacey with your exhibition proposal to curator@courthouse.org.au

Stay tuned for upcoming exhibitions at Courthouse ARTS.
